A sinuous basalt wall with steel framed slot windows forms the interface between the new living, dining and kitchen and a verdant 1920s garden at the rear of a Federation home. A mature Golden Ash forms an external canopy to the living space, accessed through glazed folding doors. A 20m lap pool and courtyard separate the living spaces from a pottery studio, gym and change facilities. This project was undertaken by Janet McGaw Architects and Atelier Wagner Architects in association.
