A translucent double skinned curtain of ribbed polyester is drawn to separate inside and outside of this free standing kindergarten for four year old children. Port holes of clear glazing allow the children to see through to the playground and to be seen. The central form is bookended by concrete block clad amenities which facilitate cross ventilation and enable a broader ingress of natural daylight. The children’s room is articulated by exposed timber posi-struts which also form contiguous opportunities for hanging artwork and displays, punctuated by broad industrial pendants. Neutral coloured carpet planks and vivid green resilient flooring demarcate the space into wet and dry activity areas.
