A glazed foyer unites St.Michael’s complex of polychromatic brick buildings as well as providing a welcoming and hospitable entry. The frameless glazed walls enclose the space independent of its steel structure allowing a view out to children playing in the garden but also for parishioners to be seen against the textured heritage backdrop. The 1880s nave has been reorientated and refurbished to create a contemporary worship space flooded by daylight from a lantern which also ventilates the space.
